Q: How long does the Scotchgardâ„¢ Protector last?
A:
Under normal usage, Scotchgardâ„¢ Protector will provide long-lasting benefits. However, performance will diminish every time the carpet is cleaned using hot water extraction. So, 3M recommend that Scotchgardâ„¢ Protector be reapplied after every hot water extraction cleaning. Professional cleaners are best equipped to perform such after-treatment.

Q: Why doesn’t water 'bead up' on carpet featuring Scotchgard™ Protector?
A:
Not all carpet fibres show beading when liquid is spilled- this depends upon the carpet weave. However, this does not affect the stain and soil resistance of the treated carpet.

A:
No – this is not its primary objective. However, it will provide improved resistance to water-based substances.
